Frequently asked questions

IV Therapy

I'm Pregnant, Can I get IV Therapy?

IV therapy is safe for most pregnant women; however, we are not treating pregnant women at this time.

How do IV Therapy work?

Intravenous therapy bypasses the GI (gastrointestinal) tract enabling your body to absorb 100% of the vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants. This method quickly and effectively hydrates your body, resulting in a more energized, healthier and better you!

What is an IV Bar?

An IV bar is a place where guests can receive IV therapy — usually one bag of saline with a combination of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants of your choice. At our three Denver IV Bars and one Boulder IV Bar, you’ll find that we do things a little differently. Although every single IV is administered by a professional, registered nurse, each of our locations feels more like a spa than a clinic. With us, you’ll receive so much more than an IV — we have comfortable leather chairs, TVs, blankets, tea, coffee, essential oils, and even eye masks for those who truly want to relax while rehydrating.

What is in an IV bag?

An IV bag is a small plastic bag that contains a unique combination of vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants that are diluted into (1L) of saline.

Who will administer my IV?

One of our accredited registered nurses will administer your IV during your IV Therapy. Our medical staff consists of fully licensed and accredited registered nurses and paramedics as well as a Doctor as Medical Director with over 30 years of experience in private practice with IV nutrient therapy. You’re in good hands at True HEAL Wellness!

We pride ourselves in sourcing the best medical supplies for your IVs, and we go out of our way to hire the best registered nurses to administer them. While you may be able to find more affordable IVs elsewhere, please be aware that the professionalism, quality, and safety could be compromised.

Chelation Therapy

What Is Chelation Therapy?

Chelation therapy is an outpatient procedure in which your provider injects a solution containing ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) into your bloodstream to remove heavy metals and other toxins from your body. This substance binds to toxins, which often include lead, aluminum, arsenic, and mercury, and your body excretes it over time. Some practitioners use chelation therapy to reduce or prevent symptoms related to Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, autism, diabetes, and heart problems.

What Causes Toxin Build-up?

Toxins can build up in your body over time due to environmental factors or certain health conditions. Examples include: Microbial toxins Polluted air or water Alcohol Drugs Food additives Pesticides Lead paint Hemochromatosis Chronic kidney disease These and other diseases can lead to an influx of toxins or essential minerals, such as copper and iron, that can be problematic when present in large amounts.

What Happens During Chelation Therapy?

Prior to chelation therapy, your practitioner reviews your medical history and may complete a physical exam. They utilize blood tests to find out if heavy metal levels in your bloodstream are too high and determine if you’re a good candidate for the procedure. If so, your doctor gives you special medicine through an intravenous (IV) tube in the vein of your arm. When the medicine attaches to metals in your body, it’s removed through your urine. The length of time treatment lasts depends on the amount of toxin buildup you have in your bloodstream prior to the procedure.

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

After chelation treatment, your body slowly excretes chelating medicine and toxins over time. Your True Heal Wellness specialist might recommend a series of treatments and periodic maintenance sessions to help you achieve the best possible outcome. You may begin feeling better or experiencing improvements in your overall health, energy levels, and cognitive function over the next few days or weeks. Your provider might repeat blood tests after treatment to make sure toxin levels in your blood stay within a normal range. Don’t let heavy metal buildup in your body affect your overall health and wellness. Schedule a chelation therapy consultation with True Heal Wellness over the phone or online today.
